Originally, zakat must be paid from the same kind; money from money animals from animals and crops from crops.

However, if you believe that they will use the zakat money for haram things, you may buy them what they need but it is recommended to tell them that you have this much of zakat and you want to buy them rice or meet so that you get their approval first.

But if they are spending it on halal things but you don’t approve of that, this is not your business.

I have some relatives, they are really poor and need help. I buy raw food items (floor, cooking oil, sugar, bean…etc.) for them from my Zakat as when give them money they use it for unnecessary items
