You can do that providing that you do this with everything that you get as an income.

This is too costly and scholars don’t recommend it.

Instead of paying 2.5% x 12, you can assign one day in the whole year and give 2.5% on whatever you have on that day.

Can you please tell me if paying zakaat on a monthly basis is okay. For instance as soon as one gets their salary at the end of the month they take out the 2.5 percent and give it to zakaat instead of waiting a year ?
