This is true, but if they are poor and don’t have anyone to give them or to provide for them from the Muslim treasury, they can take from the zakat.

Is it true that Zakat should not be given to the present day Syeds (people of the Prophet’s (Sal Allahu alaihi wasallam) family)? Because the Propet(Sal Allahu alaihi wasallam) did not allow members of his family to accept zakat?
