There is no problem in lending and borrowing from them as the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam did that.

However, you shouldn’t take them as close friends

I have some non-muslim classmates who became close to me while studying. Sometimes we borrow and lend money between each other. Is it permissible?
