Do we need to listen to the whole Surat Al Baqara – for protection – at a time or can we listen to one part now and to the rest later on?

Can the sunnah of the prophet saws abrogate verses from the quraan as a local sheikh was giving an example about inheritence? I was not sure as I heard many scholars say this can not happen. please can you give an explanation with examples if applicable.
