ANSWER:

No problem at all in giving money in an envelope or gifts on such occasions. 

Giving gifts is part of the Sunnah. However, forcing people to give or be slandered like this, this is totally prohibited and the whole community is sinful for not changing this bad habit which burdens the poor. 

Can we give mony in aqeeqah as here in our society it is custom to give and take mony on weddings walima & aqeeqah ..people who wil not give the mony wil be caled as they were bagger they came eat food & run,ddn’t given any thing. is it permisible or not or if we do so wil we be sin full? Or can we replace mony with gift.. or it will be counted same as giving mony.i dont want to go against sunnah
