It seems to me that she will call them because they are her family and not for Christmas only. Therefore, it is permissible to give her the money plus giving her some Dawah as well.

I have a Christian maid who has run out of money as she sent the whole amount to her family; now she has no money to buy the phone card to call her family on Christmas; Can I give her money as charity?

In Islam we should be good to our family and parents and try to please them. I have some non-muslim family members that insult Allah and Rasool and my religion.My uncle works in the army, so he went to Afganistan, Iraq etc. my mother is openly insulting my religion and Allah and rasool.what is the right balance between keeping in contact with my family fisabillilah and doing al wara wal bara with them. should I call my uncle who is working in the army should I keep in contact with him or should I not do this because he killed my muslim brothers and sisters?
