She is not sinful for respecting others and not wanting to hurt their feelings. However, she must not fast and she must eat and drink when alone. 

sheikh, if my wife gets periods in ramadan she doesn’t intends for fast but she avoids eating and drinking just because she doesn’t like to eat and drinking while whole family is fasting so doing such thing is permissible or she’s sinful for this?
