I am a 36 year old woman, I recently met a very good friend of my father’s. He is extremely old almost 90+ and sick for the longest time.I shook his hand and kissed his hand and forehead and then hugged him. Was it wrong islamically. If it is, what is the expiation?

A friend of mine smokes cigarett,but he doesnt eat haram chicken,beef.cause those are haram.so he asks if cigarette is more haram,than eating haram chicken/beef he will leave smoking.i told him both are haram.but he wants to know which sin is more so that,then he will leave smoking.can u explain?
