ANSWER:

This is a cultural issue. If all the men are prolonging their hair, this seems permissible. But if they are not and the individual is most likely imitating women or kafir celebrities, this is prohibited.

In our locality there is a custom that after giving birth, the relatives and friends of the parents give gold may be in the form of chains or bangles on the 40th days after birth for both gender of babies. So is it permitted to wear those gold for baby boy during his child hood?
