Feeding ten poor people.

My qustion is that my husband took an oath(promise) with which he assured me he would not commit the so called sin(i dont want to mention)..but even after promising n offering salat tauba..he did not stop anyhow. i want to know what is the kufara for breaking a promise?

I read somewhere that to repent one must make a ‘PROMISE’ to Allah that the person will never commit that sin again, which I recently came to knew that it is wrong. Now, when I didn’t knew this I made a promise to Allah. And unfortunately I broke the promise so do I need to do the expiation? I made the promise thinking that it is the criteria for asking for forgiveness!

shaikh, there is a problem with some people here. when they want us to say something or someone’s secret, etc they say “i give you Allah’s kasam (swear), say this or tell me his secret” and such things and people thinking that if they don’t disclose it, it will be like breaking Allah’s oath. how to make them understand?
