My tenant has left without paying rental amount of 5months. He is also poor and burdened with debts. Can I write off this from my zakat. If ok is it necessary to inform him about this? Waiting for ur kind advise

My father has passed away.I am afraid he did’t give zakat as it has to be.He worked very hard until his last day of his life to bring us up.He bought two flats for my brothers to help them marry although they have jobs and salaries but they didn’t have enough money to bear all the expenses of marriage.My question is: Is what my father has done for my brothers considered zakat?

if zakah was given to a Syed family unknowingly and then we realize in the next year that they were Syed. Will that zakah for last year given to that Syed family be accepted or should we give that again?
