We moved to Australia 5 yrs ago,it was my husbands decision,he has always asked my dad to support us-he made my father sell his property,help us buy house here & help settle. now my hsbnd wants to go back but my dad says it’s very foolish wasting all money-and he says if you go back now I will not support you settle again-now.we can’t afford going back on our own- what should I do

ANSWER: Your father is not obliged to help your husband. It is your husband’s responsibility and not your father’s. It is obvious that your husband is irresponsible and anyone with dignity would not do such things and expect others to help him. This is called begging!

At times while wiping the head a part in the middle goes unwiped. Is it valid?

ANSWER: No need to react with anything as it has no significance. Others claim to have seen the name of Jesus on such things. Do we say that this has any significance?

ANSWER: No problem in this as it’s just a print of the animal skin and it has no images of the animal itself.

One brother owns a shop with goods. He pays zakaat in ramadan. In ramadan he makes discounts on his goods, other shops do not do discounts. Should he pay zakaat on discounted value of his goods or non discounted or he should pay zakah based on the average market price in the market place?

ANSWER: You need to give zakat according to the price tag on normal days and not on discounts.

Sheikh, how much property can i give in charity? I have offsprings. Is there any limit that i can give in charity?

ANSWER: There is no limit! As long as you make sure your dependents would be secure and won’t be begging people after you are gone, you can give in charity as much as you want as this is something voluntary and not obligatory.

Is it a sin to slap on someone’s face? Here people say that it is a sin to slap someone’s face.

ANSWER: It is not permissible at all to slap someone’s face even that of the enemy as Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam forbade this.

I have seen people buying expensive smartphones and spending 25000 to 60000 But when it comes to buying Eid ul azha animal for sacrifice,they spend 15000 and also bring animal a day before Eid. And the one who brings heavy goats of 40000 to 45000 they talk about him telling he is doing show off. Is buying expensive a sin. ANSWER: It is best to buy the expensive animal for Udhiya providing you can afford it and definitely without showing off and only for the sake of pleasing Allah.

I feel very depressed as my husband is not regular with his prayers. Even if he prays, I’m not sure if it’s accepted because he is just too quick with it. How do I explain him about the importance of salah as he is short tempered? Sometimes he even misses Friday prayers.
