This was built long time ago and diminishing it would stir the anger of the Muslims all over the world and would be used by enemies of Saudi Arabia to suggest that they don’t love the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam. Besides, this is not built on the grave itself but rather on the ceiling.

Scholars have criticized the green dome above the Grave of Prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) because in islam building tombs are prohibited. Therefore my question is why did scholars not demolish it?
