ANSWER:

If it’s a masjid, even if it’s very small, where 5 daily prayers are conducted, you must pray Tahiyatul Masjid before sitting down. 

It does not apply for mussallas like in malls etc. or buildings that people can change into something else. 

 

In the country where I live in, it’s common to see Musalla’s or small masjids that perform adhan, salah, etc. except Khutbah Jumaah. Do we need to pray Tahiyat Al masjid in them or it only applies for normal Masjids?

Is it appropriate to place kids in a separate row to pray with the Imam? In India, this practice is very common. Main rows are occupied by Men, while kids are kept in the extreme back corner and made to form separate rows to join the Imam.
