There is no valid or authentic evidence to prohibit clapping! It is makrooh for men

I learnt from an online QA (Islamqa) site that clapping for e.g. a Halal performance, is Haram and they presented verse 35 of Sura Anfal as related reference. I wanted to know that, since this may be a worldly affair and not ibadat, is this Haram? Or Makruh? Please advise.
