ANSWER:

The potential suitor must talk to the woman in the presence of her male guardian in the initial interview conducted by him. Being alone with him is not permissible. During this interview, it is permissible to look at one another and talk to one another.

 

Can the potential husband and wife be alone in a room with the door open and the female-only family members of each family sitting in another room, talking amongst themselves? Can the man continue looking at the woman when talking, after he finds that he is attracted to her? What about the woman? What other boundaries must be set?
