My question is can I refuse a proposal if I dont like the man. There is no apparant problem My parents had likes him but for no reason I am not liking him.i am divorced and my age is also going.my parents are telling me I can’t keep on refusing to get married if I dont like the person and not giving them any valid reason.what should I do.Am I sinning in refusing to get married

I live in a community that isn’t pious and islamic. Me and my family dont know any pious women. How should I get married? Is it permissible to contact a pouis sister online for marriage through email, twitter or instagram? So I make an appointment to meet her with her dad, would this be permissible? If this isn’t permissible, does that mean that I can’t get married? What is else can I do sheikh?

ANSWER: You can let the local Imam know that you are interested in marriage or sign up for matrimonial sites however, it is not permissible for you to contact non-mahram women directly like this as they are non-mahram to you!

I have been asking u about nikah in the sub cont.U said it is not valid.Does that mean everyone one here is living in zina?We have some real scholars here who have not objected to it because the wali gives his full consent.U said renew the marriage contract but i am 16 and cant tell anyone to do it.So can i stay quite about it and just make dua to allah to forgive us all& show us the right path?

ANSWER: If they got married thinking that their marriage is legitimate and valid, their marriage is valid. Once they know the Islamic ruling, they must rectify it and renew the marriage.

If a persons wedding was arranged by parents where there was free mixing. Can this be regarded as kufr? Some scholars quoted Nisa 4:140 and Luqman 31:6 from Quran as saying Allah’s verses are being denied and mocked. Because if groom and bride commited kufr by attending this gathering before consumating then it means that marriage is annulled?

Sheikh, the way many marriages take place in our country are against the sunnah, and in one of ur post u said that the marriage is not valid. So will the child be able to get the wealth of the father even if they dont follow the sunnah in marriage? I mean, in the society they think this marriage to be valid.

ANSWER: The marriage is not done according to the sunnah and once they know, they must rectify it and correct it. However, the children are considered to be legitimate for their parents as their marriage was done in the wrong but they were not living in zina.

In ind/pak the father gives his consent to marriage,is present during the marriage but doesnt say “i give u my daughter in marriage”. The guy and the girl say we accept the marriage in front of 2 witnesses and then the witnesses sign on the nikah contract. I saw ur video related to it but it wasnt clear. So is the nikkah valid? As from years this procedure is being followed

ANSWER: This is not valid as it must be the guardian who gives the woman in marriage to the boy.

I am getting to know a girl for the purpose of Marriage, before meeting the parents I prayed Istikhara and things are going smoothly for now, I am going to be meeting the parents and the girl again, should i keep making istikhara or making it once in the begining was enough?

ANSWER: No problem in praying multiple Istikhara. However, you are allowed to meet up with the girl only once in the presence of her father.

In India/Pak b4 wedding, functions like Haldi (put turmeric to bride, every1 wears yellow dress, bride does not change yellow dress 3+ days, stage is set for bride, etc) & Henna where everyone wears green clothes. Hindus also do these. Rituals slightly differ from place 2 place. Wat is the ruling on this functions? How to do in halal way if allowed to do?
