QUESTION: I married 25 yrs ago & left my wife with my joint family to work abroad. Within a month she accused my younger bro of se* harassment n I enquired, but my family (incl parents) denied it. She sought khula & I agreed. Now, 25 yrs later, my sis revealed the allegation was true & everyone knew abt it but fam members lied to me. Now how shld I deal with them, incl parents?

ANSWER: Deal with them normally as no one put a gun to your head to believe them over your wife. This was your doing and now you must live with it!

QUESTION: If a person finds out that his wife cheated on him or vice versa and out of rage, attempts to kill her or kills her, then will that person be sinful? If yes, then how much sinful will he be? And what if the husband does this to his wife after he sees that he can’t file any charge against her as in some Muslim countries, adultery isn’t a crime ?

ANSWER: If he doesn’t offer prayers, not even a single prayer then its not permissible for you to continue this marriage! Involve your parents and his and give him the warning, if he still doesn’t pray then you must leave him.

QUESTION: If someone broke contact with a girl because it was haram and now he wants to ask her hand. What is he supposed to say when his parents or the wali of the girl asks him from where he knows this girl? Because it is haram to share old sins and says that he talked to her and that he knows her.

QUESTION: I previously asked if a wife can do only basic house duties, and you responded that if the husband is okay with it and they can hire a maid then its fine. but, does the wife have to pay for the maid? The wife doesn’t have the funds, and the husband is willing to cover the cost.

QUESTION: My wife likes to stay awake during the night and this upsets me. She stays awake till 2 am everyday and she says she reads religious knowledge but also browses through her phone.
