QUESTION: My parents, the other day has basically given me the ultimatum to choose between them or my husband. They want me to divorce my husband or they will disown me. This is a regular occurrence as they despise my husband. What do I do sheikh? Is this permissible? Who holds more status/value in islam?

ANSWER: Don’t pay any attention to what they say about your husband. Choose your husband and be good to him and Allah will hold your parents accountable on the day of judgment for their attempts to destroy your marriage like this!

QUESTION: I have a younger sister who is a few years past puberty and she does not observe the hijab. ANSWER: The father has no such right. If the woman has a genuine reason to take khula, she doesn’t need anyone’s consent for this.

ANSWER: Balance your time properly so that you can focus both on worship as well as your studies. Ignore what they say and be diplomatic and do not argue with them and just smile and nod your head and do what you usually do.

QUESTION: Is it islamically okay, if you try to knowledge ur parents because they’re following the wrong aqeedah but they’re stubborn & disagree with things that lead to major sins & most of times arguments happen (sometimes because my tone is not nice). Does Allah dislike this type quarrelling? Would I be sinful?

ANSWER: Of course you are sinful and committing sins! Their dislike of Islam is due to your attitude and style as you are the reason they are rejecting sunnah and that is because of you.

QUESTION: I am a revert for 3 years now and my parents are against Islam. They are constantly saying things like they want to take my children to see Santa or do Christmas stuff (they are babies) or buying them presents for Christmas. I am grateful for gifts however I have been patient and not replying but how can I handle the situation in the most respectful way? They are aware of Islam rule

ANSWER: You must not let them take the children to such haram Kafir gatherings or to meet such people. If they send you gifts for the children, you can accept such gifts without being with them on Christmas Day or the likes.

QUESTION: My engagement got broken after a year due to family issues but we both still love each other and believe we will be good spouses. Should I keep trying for her and think of ways to fix those issues or just leave considering it’s Allah’s will?
