Sheikh, the way many marriages take place in our country are against the sunnah, and in one of ur post u said that the marriage is not valid. So will the child be able to get the wealth of the father even if they dont follow the sunnah in marriage? I mean, in the society they think this marriage to be valid.

ANSWER: The marriage is not done according to the sunnah and once they know, they must rectify it and correct it. However, the children are considered to be legitimate for their parents as their marriage was done in the wrong but they were not living in zina.

In ind/pak the father gives his consent to marriage,is present during the marriage but doesnt say “i give u my daughter in marriage”. The guy and the girl say we accept the marriage in front of 2 witnesses and then the witnesses sign on the nikah contract. I saw ur video related to it but it wasnt clear. So is the nikkah valid? As from years this procedure is being followed

ANSWER: This is not valid as it must be the guardian who gives the woman in marriage to the boy.

I am getting to know a girl for the purpose of Marriage, before meeting the parents I prayed Istikhara and things are going smoothly for now, I am going to be meeting the parents and the girl again, should i keep making istikhara or making it once in the begining was enough?

ANSWER: No problem in praying multiple Istikhara. However, you are allowed to meet up with the girl only once in the presence of her father.

In India/Pak b4 wedding, functions like Haldi (put turmeric to bride, every1 wears yellow dress, bride does not change yellow dress 3+ days, stage is set for bride, etc) & Henna where everyone wears green clothes. Hindus also do these. Rituals slightly differ from place 2 place. Wat is the ruling on this functions? How to do in halal way if allowed to do?

My husband and I are practicing Muslims as we should be. Alhamdulillah. My husband grows beard long. But when his acquaintances call him “Mutawwa” seeing his looks, he feels he isn’t of that high level practicing Muslim and so as not be (Riya) showing off Muslim, He trims off his beard making it very short. ANSWER: What he is doing is wrong! Ask him if it is fine if you take off your hijab because you are not of that high level of a Muslim woman !

Does the wali have to hear the daughter and the brother talking or is it fine if the wali is in the same room. Does the ruling come in phone calls as well. does the wali have hear what the two are talking or just give permission and be present.

ANSWER: This is something evil which Allah has deflected away from you. You never know what might have happened if the proposal went through. Allah has saved you from a worse fate than you had anticipated. Don’t worry. When the right proposal comes, Allah will make it happen.

It’s been months I’m living away from my husband because his parents got involved in our small argument. we have a daughter who’s 1yo. ANSWER: Your mother or sister should know this by checking on her before the interview and asking around neighbors and the likes. In the interview, you can ask how does she interact with her brother in law and her make cousins to know whether she is ok to fully segregate or not.
