QUESTION: Sheikh i have a question,I am nikahified only and rukhsati has not been done yet but after nikaah my mother didn’t let me to talk to my husband on calls according to her there is no need to stay connected on calls before rukhasti.She thought talking to your husband is sin and always scolds me for talking to my husband and this irritates me everytime.What should i do?

ANSWER: What she’s saying is totally wrong. He’s your husband and you can definitely talk with him and even go out for dinners, shopping etc with him. Talk to him behind her back!

ANSWER: This is not permissible as it’s Allah who gave him the share in your inheritance if you were to die! You can easily divorce him if he doesn’t provide for you financially and by this not only you can take him off your will but also out of your entire life!

QUESTION: Please I just want to know what your opinion is on genotype and marriage in Islam, because in a lot of cases people tend to break off their engagements due to genotypes not matching. ANSWER: No problem if a brother gets married before his sister is married. He is not obliged to wait or to obey his mother in such illogical reason. If he is financially independent, he should go ahead and get married.

QUESTION: Sheikh, Is it permissible for me to pray to get married to a person who is not a believer? I’ve been praying 6 times a day including tahajjud to Allah to make him a believer and to guide him. Should I continue or should I quit knowing that Allah didn’t choose him as a Muslim in the first place? Also, is it advised for me to ask them to believe in allah or not as it should be their own decision ?

ANSWER: You should not pray for such a person! Ask Allah for someone who is a real Muslim and who would protect you and be a good father to your children. So many marriages to such “reverts” end up miserably because their Islam was not genuine or because their Islam was weak.
