My father is very friendly with me…we talk almost like friends…I always make fun of him but he doesn’t feel angry…so is it permissible?or I need to talk with giving respect always?

ANSWER: No problem in being friendly, however, you must never cross the line of respect.

My mother thinks that daughters are just maids. We do all house chores.when she talk to us she start a conversation by shouting.she thinks that daughters are made just for the work.she never understands us.she gave priority to her sons.because of this i also give her reply by yelling when she yells first.i don’t want to shout but she talks like we are just garbage.will i b punish for yelling?

Sheikh at which age should kids be segregated in their bed? 7 or 10? Because on islamqa they say 10 but on your site you said 7 and also there are ahadeeth who say different. I always thought it was 7.

ANSWER: It is an issue of dispute. I am inclined to follow the opinion of those saying that it is 7 years. It is alway best to be safe than sorry especially in today’s times and Media.

My friend question :If son has a problem in his private parts…and his age is 20 can he tell and show to his mother? He don’t like to tell others about his problem except his mother?so What Islam says about this ?

ANSWER: Of course not unless she is still changing his diapers till date! He should consult a doctor or tell his father about it.

My husband goes to his brothers house so my husband Can see his kids. His brother know that my husband does not want to sit with his wife in the same room but she stills sit with them and talk to him. Sometimes she sit with them and talk and then come back. Does my husband get Sins because of that.

ANSWER: He must let his brother know very clearly that he won’t come to his house if his wife would come and sit in the same room as they’re are non mahram to each other and it’s prohibited to have mixed gatherings like this.

I’m a convert from Europe married to a Saudi Arabian man. I am pregnant now and we had a big argue about the babies name, does it have to be the fathers name? And his grandfathers name? And then the great grandfather? And is it now allowed to have both last names ? Like the mothers name and the fathers? I would appreciate your help sooo much.. i really don’t know what to do..

ANSWER: The name must be followed by father’s name and if required grandfather’s name. The Mother’s name is not included in Islam with a person’s name at all. Some say only children born out of wedlock are called after their mothers!

We are visiting my sister’s home where my parent’s live also and she has daughters. If my son is never left alone with his female cousins and he doesn’t participate in anything more than basic pleasantries can he sit and eat with everyone on Eid or should he spend Eid alone.
