My father abuses my mother and i verbally nd physically. Sometimes he says that he prays I never get married and get the worst of things in life. My question is, does his dua would have any effect on my life, when clearly it is really horrible, and usually all his duas are fulfilled by Allah

ANSWER: Your father is sinful for making bad duas against you and such duas will have no impact on you as long as you serve, honor, and are dutiful towards him while anticipating your reward from Allah alone.

I m in a family where relation betweeen my father and mother is so much bad..here both of they do mistakes.sheikh as my father does more mistakes and i saw him bitting,saying bad words to my mom from my childhood i can’t say normally with my father. I try not to quarrel with him but i always remain in silent face which indicates i m not okay to him & i can’t change this anyway.is it permissible?

ANSWER: This is not permissible. They are accountable for their behaviour with each other. You are accountable for your behaviour and you are obliged to be courteous and polite to your father regardless of his sins.

My mother knows all about nikaah but still she is delaying my nikaah what should i do so that I can protect myself.. I am 28now

ANSWER: If she is delaying in getting you married, speak to a sibling or an aunt to help persuade your father to do so.

Does a father have rights on income earned by daughter the way he has rights over a son’s income? Can she ask for the money taken by father from her?

ANSWER: He has no right neither in his sons income nor his daughters! If he is needy, they are obliged to give him without harming themselves.

Does my elder brother have rights over me? Am i obliged to obey him?

ANSWER: You should obey him in what is rational as he is your elder and has your best interest at heart however, he does not have any authority over you as that only belongs to your father.

My siblings r continuously using phone for time pass like playing games etc in Ramadan also instead of doing Ibadah.If I’m telling them to do ibadah,they r doing for just minutes and continuing the same and sometimes not listening…so what should I do to make them bzy in ibadah, pious or religious…???

ANSWER: There is nothing you can do but to advise them with good manners, wisdom, knowledge, and diplomacy. Leave them alone and focus on your own!

I am exploring Islam. Everyday I get to know new things. Sometimes when I tell these things to my family they go crazy and they make fun of me and I I don’t feel like telling them anything. Am I sinful if I don’t tell them that what they are doing is wrong and what is the right thing that I found out? I am also worried they’ll end up doomed. They are nice people.

ANSWER: Reminding people is a good thing but one must be diplomatic and know when to do that and when to refrain. Try to be obedient and dutiful while balancing your time to please them and to gain more knowledge.

How to deal with a spouse who thinks we can’t totally live according to Islamic terms n Its ok to do some sins to fit in western world. ANSWER: It is your duty as a parent to enforce it upon them according to the best of your ability, the laws of the country and the pros and cons.

What is the age of a boy who is capable of being mahram to a woman. If my son is 12or 14 years old can he be a mahram for me to travel bcoz now a days children in that age are not behaving like a kid and They knows many things. Can u plz recommend a age for it.

ANSWER: The age of puberty is identified if one of these take place: 1- Nocturnal emission or ejaculation. 2- Reaching the age of 15 3- Growing the hair over the pubic area. 4- Menses for females. From which age is forbidden for a boy to see a women without hijab and which is the evidence.
