Please is it okay to gift ones children for example money according to their age? That is the eldest recieves the highest share while the youngest is given the least share. Is it appropriate?

ANSWER: This is not permissible. When giving gifts, all children must be given equally. Allowance and other needs should be given according to their needs and age.

I am a revert. My parents have doubt about this and they told me that they disown me if I continue practicing Islam. Now I pray and fast without their knowledge and I hide everything from them. Is this wrong since I’m not being truthful about my religion?

ANSWER: Be steadfast and try to get married soon so you could leave them and practice Islam freely. You must not pretend you are not muslim just to please them if there is no real threat to your safety.

Sheikh, im 10 years old from India, i am only one practising in my Family, none of them practise Deen nor make me do it, so what should I do as my mum birthday is reaching and my sis is forcing me to do decorations for it? How should I refrain? Also how I stop myself from watching TV?

ANSWER: You must not join nor help them in decorating for such Haram events nor participate in these gatherings and celebrations. There’s no pleasing or obedience to anyone at the cost of disobedience to Allah.

My mother hates my husband for no reason and wants me to get a divorce cause we only have one child! He’s always good to her and respectful but she keeps pushing me to divorce my husband who is a great husband and a father? What should I do? She depresses me about it! Sheikh, one of my family member doesn’t gives priority to Fajar salah. If we force to pray or ask to wake up for Fajar, he/she becomes angry and don’t like us forcing. How should we behave on this? Should we keep insisting/forcing or just say once and leave?

ANSWER: Once you wake them up and have advised them, you have done your duty and can move on. You can only force those whom you have control over such as your children and wife.

As a parent to 21 yr old twins (boy n girl) Alhamdulillah I tried giving them knowledge of both the worlds so after this can I keep control of what they do? Like see who they are friends with , check their phones , ask them not to lock their room doors, not let them hangout with friends like other kids do. Girls aren’t safe these days so to have equality I don’t let my son go out too

ANSWER: Praying for them is a good deed but it must not be connected to his prayers or before going to bed! Praying for them has no value if he is during the day an undutiful disobedient son!
