ANSWER: A man does not need anyone’s permission to get married except the consent of the bride’s father (wali). If she is a righteous woman and you are financially independent and you are a real man who would protect her and honor her, you can go ahead and marry her.

What is the age range to be considered as old-age for parents as we cannot say even ufff to them during old age

ANSWER: There is no specific age range. The bottom line is, you never say uff to them even if they are in their thirties.

Sheikh do parents have to make sure that their children are eating the same share with regard to things like cereal for example, like making sure all children eat the same amount of bowls(of cereal)? Considering the children are of close age

ANSWER: No! This is too extreme. Each child has different appetite and likings, you can’t force them to eat exactly like the other siblings!

ANSWER: You must pick up the phone and can tell them you will call after sometime.

Is it permissible for a girl to remove her father’s name from her name after marriage and add her husband’s name?? Because the name of the mothers of the believers are taken along with the name of their father..

ANSWER: Paternal.

My parents has been divorced and dont live together and dont have contact with him for a period of time as we fear fitnah. I want to marry a woman and her family and my family is pleased except his father. He wants to contact my father to see how he is. I know by this there will be fitnah again and cause problems. I wanted to know. Is her father acting correctly even if pleased by my imaan ?

ANSWER: It’s his right to see the family he is giving his daughter in. If a man is not in contact with his own father, most likely he won’t honor anything else in life and such a person can’t be a practicing Muslim when he knows that his father is his middle gate to paradise!!

ANSWER: I don’t know! The damage has been already done. Repent sincerely to Allah while showing deep remorse and never do such a thing ever again.

Sheikh a person prays, fasts, gives a lot in charity and also has good relations with his kith and kin however he hasn’t spoken to his mother for more than an year. Some say he is commiting a major sin and some say all his deeds are void and null. Which is correct and what advice would you give to such a person.
