QUESTION: My grandmother is very old and always forgets things and her overall behavior is like a kid. My mother has to look after her the whole day and she and my father often become frustrated and shout. When I try to calm my mother sometimes she gets angrier and thinks I am disregarding her pain. What should I do to calm the shouting while still showing support to my mom?

ANSWER: Do not say anything while she’s in the middle of completing her task! When she’s in a good mood and sitting and relaxed, talk to her about the reward she would get for being patient with her old mother and fulfilling her duties while anticipating the reward from Allah.

QUESTION: My mom wants me to wear makeup and wearing pants instead of abaya. I tried telling her many times that il be sinful if I do that but she doesnt care. We keep having fights over this stuff and she said that she hates me and won’t forgive me. Shes not satisfied with me, she prays that I go to hell and shes going to disown me. ANSWER: Ignore her anger and be firm in preserving your hijab and do not be hesitant or reluctant! Once she sees that you are firm and determined and would not compromise your beliefs, she will stop acting like this

QUESTION: My in laws spy on my daughter fb found her sinning & call her to say she’s bad muslim. My daughter said to not judge & us parents know everything. My in laws mad at daughter & husband. QUESTION: What rights do grandparents have over raising their grandkids? My in laws spy on my kids &cause problems by exposing their sins &call them Christian which my kids tell them they don’t like. They’re not happy with the way we are raising kids &get upset when we ask them to not interfere.
