My mother lives with me and my little family and is not Muslim. She tries to find issues and start problems with little things. I try my best to be good to my mother but it is hard sometimes. She keeps telling me she will move out. How should I deal with this?

Dear ,sheikh, I have been put in a predicament of sorts, the subject is musical instruments, specifically the piano.Since an early age, my parents put me in a music class (one to one), and since then up until now,I have been studying the piano. Knowing it is haram I brought the case to my parents and they concluded I resume until I finish my current grade as they have paid for it, is this ok?

ANSWER: This is absolutely prohibited. You must immediately discontinue this and sincerely repent to Allah. There’s no obedience to anyone at the cost of disobedience to Allah. However you must be diplomatic and respectful towards your parents in all situations but keep firm on your decision and not continue this class at all.

Our mothers had paralysed attack 2 years back. Since then, she could not walk and go to washroom, she is on bed. ANSWER: You don’t need to bring her over to take care of her. As long as your siblings are taking care of her there, this is sufficient. If she needs financial help, you should send that to your siblings.

If either of my parents instruct me to divorce my wife without a valid reason do I follow their instruction and do as they say in order to please them as I was told that I have to obey the parents except when they are asking me to commit shirk.

ANSWER: This is totally wrong and not permissible! They have no right or say whatsoever in asking you to divorce your wife!

I’m 13 from Germany and I want to wear Niqab but I know that my mothers views on it are that it is too extreme, it was hard for me to convince her to just buy me a jilbab and I said I just want it for Salah. I don’t know what to do.. I think that Niqab is mandatory but I really really don’t know how I should wear it, my friend said that for now I can just wear a mask but what about gloves?

ANSWER: You must be diplomatic in your approach and can wear it without telling her if this upsets her. Wearing the face mask is also another alternative when needed as long as it covers the face well from all sides.

Now as i m learning that we should not celebrate mild un nabi ,not do fatiha of food etc.i tell my mother these things she listen these silently then if i dont cover my head when the azaan calls or some situations she taunts like this is also not permissible ,she says someone is playing with your mind , everything is not permissible in islam then what should we do etc etc.what should i do in this cas

ANSWER: Do not let her taunts make you doubt the authentic things. Be respectful towards her all the time while strictly adhering to the Quran and the authentic sunnah.

ANSWER: He has all the right given by Allah to stop his daughters from doing anything haram! Music is haram in islam! She must obey him in wearing the abaya and you must support him in such a decision by explaining to her about her identity and the honor and pride of a Muslim.

Few months ago I took Allaah’s oath and told my mom that I would not talk to dad, as she(my mom) wanted this, but now for some reason I want to talk to my dad and I am getting thoughts that I want to talk to dad so is it permissible for me to tell my mom that, Now I end/finish Allaah’s oath and now if I want I will speak to dad, (As I don’t want to sin by breaking Allaah’s oath) please help

Sheikh if the son is going in a very bad direction (Smoking,zina, disobedience to parents, negligent with salah etc) could it be that this is a punishment for the parents of this son because they also committed such sins when they were younger but Alhamdulillah they repented

ANSWER: As long as they warned him and did not facilitate him or encouraged him towards these sins, they are not accountable.

I own 2 plots of land and I have 11 kids however my father has to instructed me to give 1 plot of land to my stepbrothers and it should be the most valuable plot as he wishes to leave something behind for them to inherit although I’ve raised them and educated them my question is do I have to consult with my wife and kids and do I need their permission to give away the most valuable land.

ANSWER: Your father has no right in demanding you to give your plot or anything to your step brothers or anyone else. This is your property and you have complete right and control over it.
