QUESTION: If i am very obedient to my parents but now for 2 or 3 days i am not talking to them but i will talk to them soon, am i included in those in which a hadith says nothing will be accepted from those who are disobedient to parents, will my duas not be accepted currently.

ANSWER: You must immediately ask them for forgiveness and repent to Allah because Allah is angry with you until your parents are angry with you and Allah won’t forgive you until they forgive you!

QUESTION: My friend is working abroad but hasn’t been able to take his wife (married since a year) with him bcos he keeps sending money to his parents. What should be his priority in this case? Should he stop sending money and save that to bring his wife or let his wife stay away from him & keep supporting his dad who’s already earning (but less)?

ANSWER: His priority should be to bring his wife to him. After that, he should give whatever extra he has got to his parents after securing his own needs and his wife’s if his parents do not have anything at all and are in need

QUESTION: I am an only son to my parents, married and working in gulf. My parents forcing me to quit working abroad and stay with them in my home country as they r aging n just retired. They also quote a hadith about parents right to stop their children from going to jung. But I don’t have job opportunity in my home town to provide sufficiently for my wife n children. Whom should I choose in this situation?

ANSWER: If they are independent & self sufficient then you don’t have to obey them and if they need assistance then you can provide them a maid to look after their needs

QUESTION: Father and brother bought me a phone and gave my old one to my mother saying that he bought both of us new phones. I did not know they were doing this or else i would have said no to getting a phone to myself. I told my mother after they had done all of this that they lied to you. Im not sure if i did the right thing or not but i do know that this is very wrong and unfair to her. Was i correct?

QUESTION: My husband refuses to eat or stay at my sister and her husband’s house saying that they had built their house using riba-based loans. He doesn’t allow me to eat there as well. ANSWER: He is wrong in what he is doing and you are not obliged to obey him. You can eat there without any problem. Haram money is haram for the person earning it & not for anyone else, unless its stolen money.
