My Muslim Uncle married a Hindu woman and now the Hindu lady and my Muslim uncle is coming home to meet us and she isnt a Muslim. She will come in Immodest clothings. My parents will inevitably force me to Meet her and make eye contact and she might TOUCH ME which is Haram!! And she might talk to me!! What should i do? CAN I MAKE DUA SO THAT UNCLE AND SHE DONT COME? Plz answer Sheikh!!!

Is the curse accepted if given without any reason? I’ve heard there is a moment in a day when angels say “aameen” to whatever you say. I have been married for 12 years. My in-laws have always been mentally and physically abusive to me and my 2 kids. ANSWER: It’s not obligatory upon you at all to maintain ties with your in-laws. However, it’s mandatory upon your kids to maintain ties with their paternal family, you have no right whatsoever in stopping them from meeting their grandparents and uncles and aunts etc.

O noble Sheikh. What is the status of grandparents in Islam, since they are the parents of one’s parents. Would that mean that they we are to be more obedient towards them than our parents?

ANSWER: You must respect them of course but they do not have the same position as your parents.

I have around around 17 of my grandparents brothers and sisters who I’m not sure are alive but I’m sure some of them are. And then from the grandparents brothers and sisters around 33 male uncles who are basically my mom and dads cousins. and then around 32 female aunts who are my dad and moms cousins as well. and then they have offspring.how should i connect my kinship with them?

ANSWER: You must not communicate or interact with non mahram relatives and your female cousins and your parents female cousins are non mahram to you.

How must one who wants to start wearing niqab deal with the non mahrams in her family who don’t view it as obligatory? Also if she wears niqab can she go chat with them but wearing niqab, not alone in the room together. Is it impermissible to chat regularly with non mahram family members? Thank you

ANSWER: She must wear the niqab in front of non mahram family members as well. It’s not permissible for her to chit-chat, hang around or socialise with them at all. Therefore, she simply ignores them and not reply to them if they insist on mixing with her and socializing.

My cousins (men) tend to joke with me allot and talk friendly. But then when I don’t laugh or keep the conversation short I feel like they get annoyed or feel like I’m targeting them. Then I feel alone because I have to sit alone in parties to eat because of my Niqab. I don’t want them to think I’m being rude or “too religious”

ANSWER: Breaking ties with those who are her kinship is a major sin. She must maintain Salam with them at least. If they are her in laws, she is not obliged to be in contact with them and can boycott them if she wants.

Is it mandatory to have good relations with relatives those who are not blood relatives?
