ANSWER: Yes. Covering the head while reciting the Qur’an if no non mahrams are present is an innovation.

Is allow to eat birthday food and collect gifts without participation in the event. My neighbour at home and colleague in the office celebrate birthday but i do not participate, they bring and keep food for me. I usually pour away the foods. Is the fòod haram to eat.

ANSWER: No problem in eating halal food and accepting gifts if they bring it to you, providing you didn’t participate in the gathering and celebration.

In my family everyone is following Sufism they do khatam in which they cook a dish and they pray 2 nafil then recite fatiha of dead people and blow it on the dish is that food halal for me?

ANSWER: You can eat the halal food if they send it to you, without you participating in this innovation.

Is it an authentic sunnah that when a person recites the last verse of Surah Taubah seven times in the morning and evening, Allah takes care of all of his/her affairs?

My question is regarding the following 5 “kalimas”: 1. Kalimah Tayyibah 2. Kalimah Shahadah 3. Kalimah Tamjeed 4. Kalimah Tawheed 5. Kalima Radde Kufr What are their origins? Should we recite them before we sleep or at other times?

Sheikh, I heard that killing spiders is prohibited in Islam for being considered sacred, and that they had saved our Prophet Muhammad(SAW) from some enemies. Is this authentic?

Sheikh, can we pray any nafl salah asking Allah to cure someone or if someone is going through a difficulty or any person missing,so can we pray asking Allah for the person?

ANSWER: It is an innovation to pray nafl specifically to ask cure for them. You can make dua in the sujood of any prayer asking Allah for your needs and what you want.

Is it allowed for a person to go to the bathroom when the athan is going on(whether to relieve oneself, just do wudu or for other reasons)? Is there evidence for prevention of this?

ANSWER: Athan has nothing to do with answering the call of nature. You can enter the washroom whenever you want to whether the athan is going or not! What is prohibited is to answer the athan or making dhikr etc.

Covering the head while urinating or eating or drinking is it Sunnah?
