QUESTION: Who’s Makki Al Hijazi, he gives lectures in urdu in al haram (makkah), and he tells wazaif for different problems.his clips are available on YouTube.He says read some parts of surah kahf, blow on yourself and sleep. and you will get up for tahajjud and he said read verse 58 of surah Najm , read 1001 times and blow on water, drink from it and people get healed from cancer. are such wazifa allowed?

ANSWER: I don’t know of such a person and I doubt that he teaches in the masjid of Haram in Makkah as only those who are qualified would teach there and what you mentioned are all innovations and baseless.

QUESTION: Shiekh after jumah prayer here imam do dua so all the people raise hands and say ameen they leave when this dua is over I know it’s a bidah shiekh . I don’t raise my hands and say ameen to dua which imam makes but shiekh can I just sit there and when everyone is leaving the mosque after dua I also leave. Or should I leave when imam starts making dua.not leaving because of people make me hypocrite?

QUESTION: Is it permissible to meditate by closing your eyes and focusing on your breath in silence (mindfulness mediation) to help with focus?

ANSWER: There’s no concept of meditation in Islam. Even while praying, we are required to keep our eyes open and pray with full concentration unlike meditation where people close their eyes and meditate in such a way that they are not even aware of their surroundings and go into a trance.
