A non muslim asked me, why do you have to fear your god? Isnt it a threat from ur god to fear him? Whats the best response to this sheikh.

ANSWER: When people fear something, they run away from it. When we fear Allah, we run to Him as our fear is combined with love and hope. Without any of these three ingredients, a person is not considered to be a real Muslim.

Is it permissible to accept gifts from non muslims on tjeir festivals like Christmas or Diwali? Is it Kufr?

ANSWER: No, this is not kufr. No problem in accepting halal gifts on kufr festivals, the prohibition is in participating in their gatherings and celebrations or wishing them or gifting them.

Can we buy sweets like for example gingerbread or spiced biscuits that the Non-Muslims only sell around Christmas/Advent time or is this like approving of it and taking part in haram festivals? Yesterday I bought some of those and only after that I realized that we are in the festival timespan, which is quite big.

ANSWER: Muslims must stay away from these special occasions or festivals that are exclusive to other religions, people, and cultures, and strive to fully embrace the Islamic identity that unites Muslims, in order to protect his own Islam as watching the beauty and extravagance of fireworks may incline him to desire it or imitate them.

syeikh, wanna ask is it permissible to send cakes or gifts to our friends that are celebrating Christmas? I mean since we are not taking part of it. Just a question.

ANSWER: The enemies of Islam are those who persecute the Muslims in the name of religion and fight them wherever they are. Those who do not fight or oppress Muslims and they are peaceful to them, they are not enemy of Islam and Muslims and we must be kind to them.

Sheikh, can we work for a democratic government especially ruled by non Muslims? Jobs like holding administration officer chairs which include administering according the law of the land. Can’t this thing be considered as going against ALLAH SUBHANA wa ta’ala in helping kafirs?

ANSWER: It is not permissible to join them in any of these celebrations or gatherings. Though it is not a religious festival, it is part of their customs and tradition which Muslims are ordered to refrain from.

Is it allowed for me to buy candies/chocolates to give to children who come for trick or treat during Halloween? They ring my doorbell and I do not want to turn them away empty handed. Would like to know the Islamic ruling on this.
