In our family the eldest member of family keep food infront of him/her and recite Surah Fateha, Surah Ikhlas and Durood e Ibrahim on Thursday, eid and other religious days and they say its reward goes to deceased ancestors, is it an innovation??

ANSWER: This is absolutely an innovation.

In our home on special occasions such as Muharram or other we just recite surah Yasin and some other surahs and make some special halal food items in which the recitations are blowed in the name of fatihan.. is this permissible?

I have an app called MANZIL which consists of surahs to recite after each prayer.It contains ayas from suratul baqara,few ayas from Assafaat,Abatha,Arrahman,Jinn and suratul Kafiruun.is it okay reciting them after each prayer along with all Asma’ulLahi Alhusna and few from the 40 Rabbana? Every year after vacationing in India, when we are about to leave to airport , my mother in law puts sugar in our mouths and keeps a pot full of water outside the house main door.. with flowers in it. Is it ok to eat this sugar before saying goodbye??

Coming .. June will be ….years after my father’s demise and I want to give sadaqa on his behalf. Is it wrong if I decide to do it on the day he passed away or I should do it on another random day?
