QUESTION: The person deserve 1st of my respect said, it’s not permissible to sit cross-legged or ankle-on-knee, half-lotus or MOVE/SWING LEGS while sitting, DOING LIKE THAT IS ARROGANT/Imitating actors. I said it’s not in Islam. But he said, SHOW ME A HADEED PROPHET DID LIKE THIS, HE ALWAYS HUMBLED HIMSELF THINKING ABOUT ALLAH. Is it true? Should I obey?

ANSWER: 1- This is absolutely baseless. No problem in sitting cross legged. If in your culture it is regarded as disrespectful to sit cross legged in front of elders then you should not do it but this is not prohibited in islam.

ANSWER: Keep advising him every now and then, with good manners, knowledge and choosing the appropriate time & place without policing or nagging him. No one is perfect and you are not his mother. As long as he listens and does many of the things you advise him to do, this is great.

QUESTION: Extortionist and criminals demands money otherwise harm me and if I don’t give money because I don’t want to reinforce their evil network and they come up and destroy my property, safety or even my family, will I be sinful for not protecting myself by bribing them or be rewarded?

ANSWER: Saving your life and that of your family should be the first priority.

QUESTION: If someone got speeding tickets which in the UK you get points and a fine. The person can’t afford this fine and also could get temporarily banned to drive. There are people who can redirect these tickets to someone who no longer lives in the uk so that the person doesn’t get the fine and points. Is this haram?

ANSWER: Of course this is cheating & haram! Prophet ﷺ said a person who cheats is not from among us & lying is a major sin!

QUESTION: In Islam, which is more important: a person’s life or their honour? For example, if a woman knows she may be abused, should she risk her life to defend her honour, or endure it in order to survive, especially if she has children to care for?

ANSWER: She should not take her life with her own hands as this is suicide but she should fight defending her honor even if she dies in the process.

QUESTION: I am confused regarding the hadith of Abu Hurairah in the hadith book Adab al-Mufrad, where he tells a man to avoid three actions in front of his father. So regarding not sitting before him, is a Muslim obliged to stand up when his father comes in to the room and he is sitting down or if they are both sitting and the father gets up for a reason like going to the bathroom?

ANSWER: This is regarding when they both enter a room like when visiting friends or relatives and the son disrespects his father by sitting before him.

QUESTION: Should i do haram to prevent a bigger haram? For example, my brother is playing haram video game, and i can stop him by playing with him a less haram one, or by playing jt myself. So should i, not just referring to video games, do haram to prevent a bigger one?

QUESTION: If my intention for studying worldly knowledge is only to give lots of money in sadaqah by getting a high-paying job, would all the time and hard work I spend in studying be turned into good deeds for me?
