If my husband is shouting on my mother in law in front of me with words like, “use your brain otherwise don’t irritate me, you are brainless and so our maternal relatives”, as his wife, what should i do? And if i don’t say anything because of the fear that my husband might fight with me, am i wrong? Please help.

ANSWER: You must not say a word and simply not be in the same place and when he is in a good mood, talk about the major sin of being disrespectful to parents without taking his name, with diplomacy, wisdom and knowledge.

Sheikh I want to know whether in islam is only the husband allowed to get angry and burst out n shout at wife or the wife is also allowed to express her anger whenever he is wrong? I prayed jumuah and accidentally took someone else’s shoe which looked like mine. then i realized and i used the shoe for some days now I’m not using it anymore. and i tried to find the guy but didn’t find him. what should i do?

ANSWER: You shouldn’t have used it all these days! Go back to the masjid and try to see if he comes and brings your shoes. If not, give in charity the equivalent of the value of the shoe on his behalf.

If father doesn’t feel disrespected from something i did, which could be disrespectful islamically or in some cultures, am i sinful? For example he is backbiting and i try to defend someone or stop him from backbiting but he continues so i take a deep breath as if im frustrated etc.

ANSWER: Do not believe what they had said and conveyed to you about others talking behind your back as this is against the instruction of Allah. Deal with them normally and with good behavior as Allah will hold them accountable for their actions and He will reward you for your patience and tolerance.

My dad is pressurized by his bro and bros family to send them money. Even his nephews disrespect my parents. My dad then limits my mom to send his family money. Whenever my mom buys anything he says money is wasted. ANSWER: This is his money and he has the right to do with it whatever pleases him. He on the other hand must not favor others over his own wife and children as they are his priority.
