I was wondering if it is halal to use the word “damn”? There are two definitions, one similar to “lanat” in Arabic, which we shouldn’t say. But it can also be used to express frustration, for example using it like “damn, I completely forgot to do that!” Would it be halal to use it this way?

ANSWER: This is not permissible as a believer is not a person who curses or uses obscene words or profanity and a person who curses would be deprived from interceding on the day of judgment as the prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam has said.

ANSWER: This is one of the diseases of the heart that would harm an individual and corrupt his heart.

There is a brother who used to always make excuses for people in his community even when they made major mistakes and hurt him. Then, about a week ago, he had enough and said it was his mistake to ever think well of them and that by default from now on he will assume anyone he sees in his community is evil until proven otherwise. What advice do you have for this brother?

ANSWER: He should not waste his great rewards of forgiveness and giving other the benefit of the doubt just like that. Allah loves those who forgive and pardon others for His sake.

I tried to give dawah to a non-muslim I know. He later began to mock/insult Allah, Islam and me personally. Is it permissible to ask Allah to make this person’s life miserable as long as he is not muslim?

I know it’s not permissible to make fun of people even if it’s with friends but is posting funny pictures of our friends for fun memories permissible? ( this will be in an account with very limited followers most of whom will be acquainted to each other atleast and also be posted only with permission they’re usually called spam/private accounts)

ANSWER: If they don’t mind it, it’s OK, though it’s not appropriate, providing it’s only male pictures and their awrah is not exposed nor while them doing any haram things.

I want to get admitted to a good university to get a good job and earn. Also I have this intention that I’d make female friends there. In this case can I make dua to get into that university? I’m not specifically making dua to make friends. But thinking of job and education. Can I make dua to get into that university?

Sheikh, i heard Allah will not guide a person who does not ask for guidance. But alhamdulillah since 1 year I’ve been practicing islam to the best of my abilities.
