We don’t call people as such before fulfilling the conditions and ensuring there are no obstacles. If the scholars spoke to him and clarified things to him but he still insists on that, such a person would be considered as a kafir.

someone I knew said they r Muslim but dont believe stories. When I asked them what exactly they meant they made 2 points: 1)stories as Noah livin 4 100s of yrs,miracles of Jesus and so seem unreal2)there is a God, but He just “watches” us and really doesn’t control us on earth.
