Please may i know if Can we encourage others to do good though we might not be doing it. E.g.can I advice my sisters to pray tahajjud though I am no praying it.

Yes you can but make it as a motivation for yourself to improve your ibada.

I will be very grateful if you could send to me a comprehensive lecture note or book on Islamic marriage to broaden my knowledge on that matter. I’m a teacher in a secondary school as it will help prepare the students to make right decision on marriage.

Sheikh, is it permissible for a girl aged 19 to attend university where there is a mixed environment of boys and girls and is it permissible for a male teacher to teach female students?

It is not permissible for a girl to attend mixed universities. As for the teacher, if there is no other alternative, he may do that but must lower his gaze and try to segregate the students if he can.

I have a problem with retaining the knowledge that I can from any source, either from reading a book or reading articles online. How do I overcome this problem?

This differs from one person to the other. You can take notes of whatever new things you learn or read it over and over until you memorize it.

other than choosing a trustworthy, religiously-committed & knowledgeable scholar 2 clear religious doubts, is there any other criteria? For ex, is it better to consult a scholar of one’s own country as he’d b better informed of the situation we’re trying to get an answer to, our language and customs etc…

If you hear a scholar gives evidences from Quran, Sunnah, and the righteous predecessors (salaf), you know that he is trustworthy and reliable. The country is not of great importance. It is the knowledge that counts.

I don’t have any references in English on Him. He is one of the great reformers of recent times and Allah has saved the Ummah from shirk through him by restoring the tawheed in its purest form.

alot of people update status on jumma which says dont forget to read kahaf or recite durood shareef and write done in the comment with the intention to remind other of a good deed so that they will also get a reward.and they say its just calling towards the good and allah has ordered us to do so,is it okay to do such act?? Is it an innovation,if it is then plz explain a little
