Today an indian actress passed away.The whole facebook news feed is filled by rest in peace by our muslim sisters and brothers and the people argue when i shared that its not correct to ask for forgiveness as its stated in surah al taubah but then they quoted me a hadith that we should respect the person..ok even if we are respecting is saying rest in peace ok thoughshe died in state ofkufr?

ANSWER: One must not pray for the person who died as a non muslim as this is sinful and our Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam was ordered not to do it.

Is there any bindings to visit a dead (considering mahram)? I mean if a woman has her period, in this situation can she visit or touche both the person in dead bed and the deadbody? Please suggest.

ANSWER: One can keep things of dead people, but it is not permissible to keep their pictures.

Can a women offer funeral pray??if yes, then she should stand behind the men like in normal prayers or she can stand with men…. like if there is only one row and all men and women are standing one the same row…. is it permissible….

shaykh, if a person’s dad passed away, he cried, does that crying in such calamity reduces the reward?

ANSWER: Normal crying is part of human nature and our Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam had cried over his son Ibraheem. What is not permissible is wailing and shouting and complaining.

Is it permissible to keep the photo or the possessions like their used things like their watch, spectacles in the remembrance of the deceased person? Is it shirk?

ANSWER: You can keep their things but to keep their personal photos, this is not permissible.

Sheikh, my grandma died almost 2 months ago, so we wait till tuesday for 6 weeks for dua after the body has dissolved, and there will be food and gathering, is this bidah? If I don’t go my mom will be extremly mad at me and will probably not talk to me. So is this bidah?

ANSWER: Because it renews sadness in one’s heart, and it is as if glorifying them after their death. The origin of shirk on earth began by making statues of the dead.

If a person wearing Ihram dies on the way to Umrah/Hajj, how is he buried? I mean people give him bath & bury him in separate clothes OR shud he b buried in same Ihraam whc he was wearing, without bath?

ANSWER: He is washed but not perfumed and he is shrouded with his Ihram without covering his face or head.

I want to know that is it permissible for the imam leading the funeral prayer to recite the duwa (after 3rd takbir, after al-fatiha & darood Ibrahim and before salam) in his mother tongue?
