Should quran be read next to the dead body before or after ghusl? If not what can people read next to the dead body: any specific thing? What should be read during burial and after burial? Do we need to do Quran khani for the deceased on the next day of burial?

ANSWER: All what you have mentioned about reciting Qur’an for the deceased is not permissible because it’s an innovation.

My grandfather passed away about 7 years ago and he was really beloved to all of us. Me and some of my family members had taken a few pictures of him when he was alive and sometimes when we miss him, we share pictures of him with each other on WhatsApp groups etc. I want to ask if there’s any problem in doing so and if this is considered a sin.

ANSWER: It is not permissible to keep the pictures of the deceased ones. Delete all his pictures and tear the hard copies.

My maa has died out of cancer in 2014.She was a fourth stage cancer patient with kidney problem.Whatever she would eat,used to vomit.She was under treatment then nd i cant remember wheather doctor has told her to abstain from fasting in Ramadan or not.Should I have to fast on her behalf?

When people are carrying the deceased to be burried, they say in a unison, “Laa ilaha IllAllah hu, Laa ilaha IllAllah..” They keep on repeating this in a slow melodious voice & in unison. Others may join in also unison that are near the deceased body. What is the ruling on this?

Sheikh on your twitter someone asked who will get the reward of building a mosque when someone builds the mosque with the intention that the deceased parents get the reward and he names the mosque after them and you said only the parents get the reward. Why? Why doesnt the one who builds it also get a reward?

ANSWER: Because this intention was to make the reward for the parents. If his intention is to share it with them, this would be like building half a masjid for him and the other half is for them.

Is it necessary for females to go to the house where some far relative have passed away.is it a good deed for them? here people go and start reciting quran which I know is biddah.so what females have to do after going there.

ANSWER: Going for condolences is permissible and part of upholding ties of kinship which is rewardable. You can spend 5-10 minutes reminding them to be steadfast. One must not gather with others or visit them at a specific time where all come and visit and gather in one place for condolences.

I lost my daughter about 2 years ago. I don’t complain to Allah in the least bit, but say “Alhamdulillah” and “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun”. Yet at times I feel saddened (but not wailing). Is it okay to cry for her? I’m worried that otherwise I may be considered unmerciful since the Prophet (SAW) did cry when he lost his children.

ANSWER: No problem, this is a natural human tendency to remember the loved one and cry for them, however bearing it with more patience will be more rewardable for you in the hereafter.
