QUESTION: I would recite a verse in prayer and then after that I would say what the verse means in English(to understand), is this permissible? (sometimes I say it in my heart.) For example, I would recite the first verse of Surah Fatiha, then after this I would say: “All praise is due to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds.” Is this right, or permissible?

ANSWER: If you think about it in your heart, this is permissible but if you say it, it’s not permissible and the prayer would be invalid

QUESTION: I fell off the bike and hurt my legs now Sheikh i want to pray Jummah prayer but I can’t do ruku and sajdah I tried but it’s very hurting my legs can I pray while sitting down on floor should I get less reward.

ANSWER: If you can stand, you must stand during the standing part and you can sit on the chair for ruku and sujood if you cannot do it normally.

QUESTION: I want to ask about the traveller’s salah. My journey took 10hrs and I missed zhur, asr and magrib. Will I observe two rakahs for zhur and asr and then 3 rakahs for magrib or, I will observe only Isha?

ANSWER: You can pray only Maghreb and isha as the other two were skipped intentionally and without a legitimate reason and hence will never be accepted from you.

QUESTION: Here in india people quote a hadith that says if a person miss one fard prayer, he will be in hell for 20 million years. Is it true?

ANSWER: This is totally baseless and fabricated! Missing one single prayer intentionally is a major sin and would not be compensated by anything!

ANSWER: This is fine and the child doesn’t have to touch anything as this is not from Islam.

QUESTION: U said that the muazzin is the guarantor for our prayer and fasting.I live in bangladesh where the muazzin of different masjid gives adhan at different timings.I asked u questions on this topic and watched ur vids also but i m not clear yet.Should i follow Umm Al Qura for all the prayers except Isha. And ISNA for Isha regardless of when the muazzin gives adhan?

ANSWER: No, you must follow the athan unless you are certain that he is not calling it on time as in the time of asr and fajr
