Sheikh, my grandma passed away (may allah have mercy on her) and she died from pneumonia. Is ghusl meant to be done on her? Im not sure if we can because no one doing ghusl due to coronavirus? Can u explain if ghusl is compulsory?

ANSWER: It’s not a plague.  In Sha Allah, a muslim who dies due to Coronavirus is a martyr as it is attacking the respiratory system and suffocates a person like a person who is drowning.

Is it true that any act of charity given or done in the name of a loved one doesn’t reach the person (deceased) unless it is from children to a parents? For example, a sister cannot give charity or build a masjid (sadaqatul jariya) in the name of her sister or brother that passed away.
