I know it’s really bad but I keep missing some prayers & im trying to fix it for >a year, but keep falling back. Would it be shirk if I try the following as motivation?: ‘I hope i find someone to marry in 2-3 years, but unless I fix myself first a practicing person wont marry me’. If I use that as motivation to push myself to not skip(bc i do wanna marry), is that shirk?

ANSWER: This is not permissible. Your motivation and reason to maintain your prayers must be for the sake of Allah and to escape from the torment of the grave and hellfire!

If we’re traveling and we’re combing and shortening prayers, when should we do the it after prayer Aadhkar? Also, what about the evening Adhkaar? Can we do it after Dhuhr if we’re combing it with Asr?

ANSWER: You should do the adkhar of dhuhr after dhuhr and then stand up for Asr and do its dhikr after praying asr. You should say your morning and evening adkhar as normal.

Is it sufficient for the tongue to move while doing zhikr (so with lips closed) or should the mouth move as well (so lips open)

ANSWER: As long as your tongue is moving, it’s sufficient.

Sheikh as much as I would like to reply to the Adhaan, I am not able to as the place where I live many Adhaans go off at the same time and it gets confusing as you cannot hear even one of them clearly and it gets difficult to reply to it, so can I just say the Adhaan dua without replying to it?

ANSWER: You should reply to the adhan first. Try to focus on one and say that whole athan.

Is it permissible to say slaam while entering Masjid while everyone is praying?

If i go on trek and my clothes gets soiled, can i wear something clean on it and pray salah?

ANSWER: If there is an impurity on your body or clothes, you must wash this off or change your clothes. Wearing clean clothes on top of that impurity doesn’t change your status as being impure.

In one masjid the stairs of the mimbar are in between the first three or four rows in a small to medium size masjid should I not pray in these rows and tell the imam about this

ANSWER: No problem in praying there due to necessity and the size of the masjid.

I pray on the side and slightly behind my brothers as there is not much space and we pray individually. Not completely behind them a little like 1/3rd below them. If I go all the way back it gets really hot as there is no fan at the back and it gets difficult for me to concentrate in Salah. Is this permissable?

ANSWER: No problem even if you stand right next to them or even in front of them and pray as long as you are praying individually and not in congregation with them.

If one gets thoughts in his prayer that are taking his mind away from the actually prayer’s parts like tasbeeh and the surahs one reads, but such thoughts are about Islam like the Seerah or the story of the companions, is it disrespectful to Islam or kufr if he seeks refuge in Allah from Satan and spits 3 times to his left as he would normally do with distractive thoughts?

ANSWER: No problem. It should be done for any kind of distractions.

We know that eating pork or drinking wine means our good deeds won’t be accepted for 40 days. Does that mean we don’t have to pray for these 40 days even if we do they won’t be accepted. Please clarify.

ANSWER: If one abandons praying then it takes a person out of the fold of Islam! This ruling is only for drinking alcohol or intoxicants, like drugs and not for eating pork.
