QUESTION: If my journey will start at the time of Asr, can I shorten and combine Asr prayer with Dhuhr and pray the two at the time of Dhuhr before leaving for the airport

ANSWER: No, this is not permissible as you’re still within your city limits and not considered a traveller! Shortening the prayer would render it invalid

QUESTION: What is the validity of a rakah for a follower of an imam when the follower goes into ruku behind the imam whilst the imam is seen rising out of ruku or saying the dhikr between ruku and standing up? Assume the follower had already started the salah with the imam and rakah is quiet.

ANSWER: As long as the imam & the follower were in ruku position at the same time, even for a second, the rakah is valid for the follower. If he missed it and Imam rose before he went to ruku with him, he has to make up for that missed Rakah.

QUESTION: In our mosque, people pray fazr late.So when is the best time for me to say my morning adhkar?

ANSWER: You can say them as soon as the fajr time begins, you don’t have to wait until you finish praying fajr

QUESTION: During qurbani 3-4 people works and help us to prepare the meat. I give them payment for their work. My question is, as this is eid day and they are poor, can I gift them qurbani meat as gift from my portion or from poor peoples portion?

ANSWER: If you are paying them their fee as usual which they charge for their work and after that, you give them part of the meat as a charity or a gift but it is not part of the deal nor of the payment, this is permissible

QUESTION: I live in uk and I do my Qurbani in Bangladesh where my relatives lives, now I know I shouldn’t cut my hair or nails before the sacrifice but who do I follow for that uk Eid or Bangladesh Eid

ANSWER: Once the sacrifice is done in Bangladesh, you can cut your hair and nails regardless whether the eid was due in UK or not

QUESTION: Sheikh, please enlighten me about cutting of hair and nail befor Qurbani. Is there any rule not to cut hair or nail befor certain days of qurbani?

ANSWER: It’s not permissible for the one who is paying for the qurbani to cut his/her nails and any part of body or head hair from the 1st of dhul hijjah until his animal is slaughtered.
