I am 32 weeks pregnant. Me and my husband decided on naming our baby Maymana. I would like to ask if its ok to name my daughter. We searched on the name and it means right, right side of an army. Can I use this name? Is it a name of Paradise?

It is permissible to call your girl by this name. It means the right hand side. It doesn’t mean Paradise

As long as you are the only one drinking from it, it is OK providing that you don’t breathe into it. And Allah knows best

I wanted to ask i am a student in Canada, Toronto a high school student. Every morning when i go to school i have to stand up for the national anthem is this something i have to do as a Muslim or can i tell that i am not allowed to do this in my religion.

You shouldn’t do that as such greetings can only be to Allah. You have to tell them that this is against your beliefs and that you are not allowed in your religion to do that even if the flag is for a Muslim country.

Is it permissible for me to lie on the same bed with my mother while sleeping at night?

As long as the bed is big and you are covered in a separate blanket or covering, in sha’ Allah this is permissible. It is best though not to do so and to sleep in a separate bed.

Men must be segregated from women. They can’t sit together even if they were couples.
