As a laboratory technician in a hospital, I used to help my family to do analysis without my bosses being aware. But I would like to know if this is prohibited in Islam?

ANSWER: Of course this is prohibited and cheating. Prophet salla Allahu Alaihi wa Sallam said a person who cheats is not from among us.

Is earning from youtube is halal or haram because youtube pay money for advertisment and we can stop ads like alchol,gambling,sex or other such types of ads but we cannot stop music and women in the ads but in the ad the product is halal so guide me is this money is halal or haram because we cannot control music and women.

ANSWER: This is not permissible.

I work in produce(fruit and vegetable) section of that supermarket.sometimes customers come to ask me about meat and even pork and bacon which is in the next shelve. Sometimes I say to them I don’t work in this department, or I call bring someone else to help them find the meat or ask them to go to the nearest counter to get help. I Feel uncomfortable about this is it halal or?

ANSWER: You must not guide them to it nor ask help for them. Simply say you don’t work in that department.

We are starting catering services for parties.Can we deliver food at birthdays, anniversaries,festivals like christmas,diwali,etc or muslim bidat festival like muharram, meelad, etc. Can general food like Dinner(main course with dessert) be sent there ? We also do baking. Can cakes be sent at birthdays and marriage anniversaries and shop/business anniversaries.

ANSWER: Providing your services for all these haram events is totally prohibited and the income generated through it would be haram as well as this is collaborating and assisting in evil.

My question is when attending an interview if the HR Manager of that company is female and I need to shake hands with her .. so it is permissible for me to shake hands in that situation. Because if I refuse to shake hands she might reject me from giving a Job.

ANSWER: This is not permissible. From the entrance of the room, stand back and nod while putting your hands on your chest. She will understand. Even if she doesn’t, simply tell her that you are not allowed to shake hands in Islam with the opposite gender.

If a person owns ATM cash machine and it is located in either night club or in marijuana facility. Is his income halal? Although he just owns the machine, people withdraw their own money and spend it in their way. Please advise.

ANSWER: Such a machine is not usually owned except by the bank operating it. It is prohibited to help such interest based banks to facilitate their evil by providing them with such machines and by renting spots in your properties.

There is a company who provides payment services for banks and insurance, so is it permissible to work their as an employee?

ANSWER: If this company works for conventional riba based banks and commercial insurance companies then working in any department of this company is totally prohibited.

My husband is a bank employee but that income is haram this bank deals with intrest is that money haraam for me also….

ANSWER: The haram money is only haram for the person earning it and not for anyone else. However, you should advice him about it’s prohibition but if he doesn’t listen, the sin is on him alone and you and your children can use that money.

ANSWER: No problem as long as the job is halal, there’s no interaction or mingling with men and she observes the correct islamic hijab and her guardian approves of this.

There are some organisations which support LGBT by putting a rainbow colour flag on their company logo on LinkedIn. These organisations have operations/branches in Islamic countries as well. Is it allowed to work in such organisations in an Islamic country? Would the money be halal?
