QUESTION: As regards, 2 units of suna before fajr, when you are lait and the jamaa is on for the fajar fard prayer is that you pray suna first and then join the fard or join the fard first. what are the thoughts of scholars in this regard.as a moulana from the sub continent says according to Hanafi and Maliki you can pray suna first and then join the congregation of fard

ANSWER: You must join the fard prayer and after that can pray the Sunnah. Whoever prays it while the congregation is going on, his prayer is invalid.

QUESTION: Many of my foods (as a student living alone I eat lots of prepared food) there is garlic powder & garlic (+ sometimes onion) mentioned in the ingredients, eg in virtually all noodle tomtato sauce or in pizza, or in the ketchup sauces or mayo/barbeque sauce etc. Do all of these fall under the rule of garlic & thus prohibition of congregational prayer, or is it literally only RAW garlic and onions?

ANSWER: The ruling is only for raw onions and garlic and when someone can smell it and it is offensive smell that annoys other worshippers.

QUESTION: Sheikh, when combining prayer during travelling, do i pray dhuhr 2 rakats,salaam then immediately asr 2 rakats? Please clarify on the right way if I understood it wrong

ANSWER: It is best to say your athkar after thuhur then offer Asr and then do your athkar after it as well.

QUESTION: When praying behind the imam, do we have to stand first on the right of the imam ? Or can we stand on either side of the imam?

ANSWER: You must stand right behind the imam and then to right and then left so that the Imam is in between the congregation.

QUESTION: I know it’s mustahab to delay isha until just before midnight. My question is what is the earliest time I can pray Isha bit still get the reward for delaying isha? Like if isha is at 6:47 and midnight is at 11:15, would I get the reward if I delayed isha till 8 o’ clock. What about 9, what about 10

ANSWER: The closest to midnight you pray, more the reward you get.

QUESTION: A friend of mine prays salah on the floor ( where many people walk) . Despite of me having the salah mat, she prays on the floor. She feels hesitant to ask me, even if I provide her, she continues to pray on the floor. Am I wronged for not giving the salah mat or is it allowed to pray in such a way even if there is an availability of salah mat

ANSWER: No problem whatsoever in praying on the floor as long as its pure with no apparent najasah.

QUESTION: I know that Tahiyyatul masjid is wajib on muslim when he enters masjid.Is it wajib all the time when I come to masjid to join congregation or once in a whole day?

ANSWER: Every time you enter the masjid and want to sit down. If you enter it and join the congregation immediately, there is no need to offer it after the fard prayers.

QUESTION: How to pray Sunnah arawatib while traveling. (In case if you receive this question twice I sent the first time it’s say failed to send. I have no intention of breaking the rules sir).
