QUESTION: What is the validity of a rakah for a follower of an imam when the follower goes into ruku behind the imam whilst the imam is seen rising out of ruku or saying the dhikr between ruku and standing up? Assume the follower had already started the salah with the imam and rakah is quiet.

ANSWER: As long as the imam & the follower were in ruku position at the same time, even for a second, the rakah is valid for the follower. If he missed it and Imam rose before he went to ruku with him, he has to make up for that missed Rakah.

ANSWER: You can say them as soon as the fajr time begins, you don’t have to wait until you finish praying fajr

QUESTION: Sheikh, I went to the masjid and couldn’t catch the fourth rakah ruku. Should I not join the prayer if I miss the ruku, since this won’t be counted as getting the Jama. Should I wait for other people to come for second Jama and not join the ongoing Jama?

QUESTION: Can the sleeves of the abaya (abaya for going outside or for salah) be tight-fitting so that the shape of the forearm(only a piece of the whole forearm) is visible?

ANSWER: The sunnah is to suppress the yawn or cover your mouth with your hand.

QUESTION: Is it permissible to pray in tshirts and pants wearing a jilbab over it that is long enough to cover the feet and has elastic attached at the sleeve ends?

ANSWER: If the hijab is covering your whole body, it doesn’t matter what you are wearing underneath it, even if you are not wearing anything at all!

QUESTION: Right after finishing the tasleem in salah, I’ve seen so many worshippers in Malaysia using their right hand to rub from the right side of their face to the their face (the motion may differ from one person to another it seems). Is this kind of practice part of the Sunnah?

QUESTION: Sheikh, is it permissible to Raise hands and make Duaa straight after Tahiyyatul Masjid/Sunnah Prayers every time. This is to make Duaa for in between Athan and Iqamah.

ANSWER: No problem at all in making dua by raising hands in between Athan & Iqamah, in fact it’s a highly recommended thing to do, it’s one of the prescribed times the dua is most likely to be answered

QUESTION: Is it permissible to recite two different parts of one Surah in the same rakah? For example, Ayat Al Kursi pause and then Amanar Rasool in the same rakah.
