Sheikh, I read on IslāmQa (Hanafī Fiqh) that it is allowed to touch the ears during Takbīr to ensure the Sunnāh of having hands near ears is done properly. Is this ruled out as a Bidd’āh or this exception is accepted?

ANSWER: You must suppress it by putting your hand on your mouth, especially when it comes during prayer.

I’ve learned that it’s recommended to keep a sutrah in front when praying salaah alone. Now, shaykh, is it also recommended when praying in jamaa’ah but with social distancing?

ANSWER: No, In Sha Allah. If a servant falls ill or travels, the likes of what he used to do when he was settled and healthy will be recorded for him.

It is said our deeds are presented to allah on every Monday and Thursday night.My question is suppose Thursday will it be Wednesday after maghrib i.e Thursday or Thursdays maghrib i.e.Friday ? Atleast I want to pray tahajud when my deeds are to be presented to allah so please tell me when is it. Sundays night i.e.Mondays morning or Mondays night i.e.Tuesdays morning and same on Thursday.

ANSWER: Specifying nights like this for worship is not permissible as it’s an innovation. Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam used to fast both these days and it’s highly recommended for us to fast these days as well.

Are tarikee salah will stay in jahannam forever or are they gonna leave jahannam and go to jannah eventually because they believe in Allah?

With regards to onions, if we have dish/meal that’s has onions raw or cooked, can we brush our teeth with minty toothpaste/drink mouthwash and go to the mosque to pray and if not how long in hours do we have to wait before we can go to the mosque after having onions

ANSWER: The prohibition is in going to the masjid and praying while you are smelling of garlic and onions. If you manage to lose that foul smell, you can go to the masjid.

when one enters the congregational salah late, does he say allahu Akbar when starting, and then say it again when going into the position as the imam, or does he just say it once and go into the position as the imam?

ANSWER: Saying the first inaugural takbeer is a pillar without which the prayer is invalid. You can say the takbeer again before joining the imam in his position but even if you didn’t, your prayer is valid.
